We use meds, meditation, exercise and even apps to help us focus
But no one is talking about this #1 strategy.
Best part?
This strategy will not only allow you to focus right now but will rewire your brain on the cellular level to focus in future too!
Before I share with you this strategy let’s do a little biology.
The parietal lobe is in charge of multiple things.
There are two jobs that we care about now:
1. Choosing to focus
2. The sense of touch
Since touch and focus is in the same area of your brain, when you improve your sense of touch, you automatically improve your sense of focus.
Usually when you touch something, you see it first and have an assumption of what it will feel like. So essentially you are touching with your eyes.
To improve your sense of touch, you’ll want to blindfold yourself so that way you’ll HAVE to use your sense of touch.
Here’s a fun way to get you started:
Have a spouse, friend or even child fill a bag with random items around the house. (Just make sure the bag isn’t see-through!)
Without looking, put your hand in, feel one item at a time and guess what it is.
You can also get braille picture books and read them blindfolded.
I’m warning you - your brain is going to hurt from doing this.
The reason for that is because you’re using a part of your brain you don’t use so often, but it will be worth it!
Your challenge this week is to do a blindfolded activity at least once.
You can make it into a family game by getting everyone together and taking turns feeling what’s inside the bag.
You CAN focus!
I believe in you. ❤
