Imagine you are going through the completion rate of your newest course.
The numbers aren’t bad, but you know they can be better. And even more so, you know the clients that are getting the best results are the ones who are completing the whole course.
You want more of them to get better results.
You may believe the reason they are not getting the results you promised is because they are not finish the course.
But WHY are they not finishing the course?
Because they have a weak thinking skills.
You see, thinking is not one big thing.
Thinking is made up of 28 parts called cognitive functions.
Naturally we all have stronger and weaker cognitive functions.
Those weaker ones are making it challenging for us to do what we want to do, including finishing and implementing courses.
You can say, it’s not my responsibility, I’ve provided them the course and leave it at that.
I have a feeling you care more about your customers and you want them to get better results.
If that is the case, you’ve got to take responsibility.
You’ve got to do whatever you can to help.
I’m gonna say it another way, it is your responsibility to help your customers get the best results possible.
Now before you come at me and say you can’t take responsibility for everyone, you are right.
You can’t help anyone who doesn’t want to be helped and obviously you are going to be limited in certain situations.
You can’t work 1:1 with everyone who buys your mini course for $197
1. This is great for low ticket offers where you are not helping out the customer for most of the process (think courses with a fakebook group.)
Give them more ways to consume the content. Besides for the videos, create a private podcast, create a workbook, slides or maybe a clear checklist.
Different people find different ways consuming content easier (because of their cognitive functions.)
Sometimes something small, like cutting the 30 minute videos to 3 short ones, will a difference. This will not solve the deeper problem, the cognitive function, but it will get more people through your course and implementing it.
2. Take the time to learn about your clients and common pitfalls. Not just that they’re struggling with accountability, but WHY? Not just that they have a challenging time writing the copy, but WHY? Based on that create a solution.
3. This is best for 1:1 or small group coaching - Help them identify what cognitive functions are getting in their way of implementing what you are learning and build it part of your program ways to help them improve it (or at least deal with it) so they can get the most out of the program.
You can also see why people get much better results from 1:1 or small group coaching.
As a coach you can spend more time with them and give them the personal attention they desire.
You can customize what you are talking about and work through their cognitive functions whether you realize it or not.
As a learner (and I know you are!!) you are taking programs.
I’m sure there have been courses you didn’t get what you wanted out of them… because of weak cognitive functions.
The stronger your cognitive functions get, the more you can learn from other people.
Your Challenge this week is to pick one of the 3 ways we spoke about to help your clients get better results and DO IT. No change is going to happen if you don't take action =)
