How can you make quick, good business decisions?
Almost every entrepreneur I know, has a hard time making good, quick decisions and we pretty soon figure out the reason for this is they are struggling with the thinking skill of comparisons.
Comparing is a thinking skill most people THINK they are good at but struggle to do it correctly.
We often just say the attributes of one decision or another.
For example: I prefer to sell the business because that way I don’t have to think about it But I want to hire someone as the business still brings in cash flow.
You are talking about the positives of each without putting them on the same parameters/levels.
Selling the business means I don’t have to think about it. Hiring someone means it’s still on my head and my responsibility.
Selling the business will give me a one-time lump sum. Hiring someone means I’ll continue getting cash flow every month.
You see how it’s now compared on the same parameter?
If you can come to a decision KNOWING what’s most important to you and then compare your options on the same parameter/level, making decisions will be a breeze.
If I KNOW I need more time and brain space to focus on my main business and 10X those profits, it’s now much easier not to get persuaded by the second business's cash flow as you KNOW what’s important to you.
I understand that I’m making it stupid simple and most decisions are more complex and they depend on a lot of factors.
It doesn’t take away from the fact if you KNOW what’s important to you and you compare your options on the same parameters, you’ll have an easy time making decisions.
